Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comThis tree was planted one year ago. It did not come back this spring, but it has green growth around the very base of it. Should I cut the base growth to get energy into the trunk and branches? Or is it a lost cause. The rest of the tree looks dead.

It likely was a grafted variety, so the new growth is coming from the rootstalk and will not look like your weeping tree. It is a lost cause.
