Q.Weeping Cherry Tree

Anonymous added on April 1, 2014 | Answered

I have a weeping cherry tree that was trimmed off the ground and now has clusters at the cut off ends close to the ground. Can I trim these clusters off? The tree looks like it is grafted and it is beginning to bud.

Your weeeping cherry is most likely grafted. A swollen or scarred bol at or near the base of the tree indicates a graft. You will find the following article helpful: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/trees/weeping-cherry/pruning-weeping-cherry.htm
