Q.Weeping Cherry Crack?

Zone 10954 | Maria Grace Monteleone added on June 7, 2017 | Answered

Hi I Just replaced my 20 year old weeping Cherry with a new one and I noticed this crack the other day. Does anyone know what it might be and what I should do for it? Also the leaves are starting to look a bit funny.
Thanks for your help!

I don't see any crack in the bark in the images that you provided.
You tree does look stressed and careful watering needs to take place; daily for the first 2 weeks.
3 to 4 inches of hardwood mulch will help with moisture control, but avoid mulch in a 6 inch diameter around the base of the tree.

Review the planting and care information in the link below.
