Q.Weeds On An Artificial Lawn

Zone BN16 1QA | Anonymous added on May 31, 2026 | Answered

When I changed to an artificial lawn I was assured there would be no weeds, which has not been the case. Is it o.k. to use weedkiller on an artificial lawn? The attached photo shows one that is almost impossible to remove. Any suggestions?

The weed in the photo is a perennial oxalis and it can be particularly stubborn. You should not use a commercial weed killer for lawns on artificial turf, but you can use one made specifically for artificial turf. You also can use household vinegar or a commercial weed killer that is made with acetic acid (vinegar).
