Weeds

Question

I’m a new home owner. Huge garden to take care of. I cut down the tall grasses last fall. Now, I suspect that a prolific weed has taken root in the tall grasses. The leaves don’t look like they are “grassy.” See pic.

If they are weeds, have I lost these grasses? Is there any way to save them? I believe previous owners used an herbicide in their sprinkler system to help keep weeds down.
