Weed Killing

I am boiling water to kill the weeds in the cracks in my sidewalk blocks. I have heard about salt being effective but that it will ruin the ground for future plant growth. I have weeds where the city sidewalk hooks onto my driveway. I do not envision ever ripping up my driveway to turn it into lawn or a flower garden. Will combining the salt and boiling water ruin my cement?

Though I do not think this would harm the cement, the following article should be of some help to you: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/special/organic/homemade-pet-friendly-weed-killer.htm [1]
