Garden carpeted with celandines. Should I spray and when?

Celandines are pretty but very invasive.
You can dig up the the plants, though if it is a large area this may be nearly impossible.
Changing the soil conditions can have an impact. They love a damp and clay soil so improving the soil by adding drainage and adding well draining loamy soil can help discourage the plant.
In the most drastic method you can use a herbicide on the plants though this will likely kill off everything in the area.
