Q.fast growing trees

Zone 9 | Kat3153 added on August 9, 2015 | Answered

We live in CA in the Sierra foothills. Summers are hot 95-100′ and winters are 32-40. We just bought a home on six acres and I need fast growing trees for our six acre property. We would like trees that grow fast and keep their leaves and need minimal water as we have no water source to the tree area except for rain. Any ideas? Height is not a concern.

I would contact your local county extension office.
They will have good information on the local growing conditions and what would be best suited for the drought conditions in your area.
Also visiting local garden centers to discuss the appropriate plantings is a great idea.
