Q.We Have Small Plant With Spikey Dark Green Leaves That Has Appeared From Nowhere . Should I Dig It Up ?

it could be Miscanthus.2 plants have appeared 3 foot from a 6 ft Larch Lap fence.they been there since last September without flowering. Any idea what they are?

We didn't get enough information or photos for a positive ID, but I wouldn't dig them up just yet. I always wait at least for a flower because it could be a wildflower coming up. If you have miscanthus nearby it certainly could be that. Look around your yard for any other plants they resemble.
