Q.fern in garden grows like a tree

Zone E11 leyton | dazzybarton added on June 29, 2015 | Answered

We have like a fern in our garden but it grows like a tree. This plant is from the garden next door – from the root. It’s a real problem. The more I cut it and a drop of rain and sun hits, it’s up a foot in height. We just keep cutting but does no good at all. The leaves are pretty big and they unfold.

The neighbors plant or tree must be sending out runners that have decided to pop out in your yard.

You can trim back the invasive plant and dab the cut stem with a herbicide. Do this carefully so that it does not kill anything else in your yard.
