Q.We Have A Thread Like Net Work Of Roots Running Everywhere In The Soil? We Have Not Got A Clue Where From.

Anonymous added on July 29, 2024 | Answered

The nearest and largest tree is a Robinia that was here when we moved in so has got to have been there for maybe 12 years? Could this be the culprit?

It could be, but I can't see any root nodules, which they can form in symbiosis with beneficial nitrogen fixing bacteria in the soil. Look for those in your root samples to confirm this. Otherwise, it could be anything! Some tree and shrub roots can spread VERY far. Privet is really bad about this, for example.
