Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWe have a smoke tree in yard about 9 feet tall. At about 30″ the trunk splits into two branches with beautiful leaves on these branches. On the main trunk at ground level are three branches coming up with leaves; they are 12 to 24 inches in height. Do they need to be cut off or do they remain? Thank you.

Sounds like you have some suckers sprouting from ground level, you will definitely want to prune those.
