Q.ponytail palm

Zone 2261 central coast of NSW | michellemarley1 added on April 11, 2016 | Answered

We have a ponytail palm that has always been planted outside. Normally it is healthy, but at the moment it has rotten leaves and is dying on tips of branches. Can you help us?

Some aging of leaves are common on the plant. Lower leaves will drop off and new leaves will grow from the top.

If you are watering with conditioned water or over fertilizing salts can build up in the soil and turn the tips of the leaves brown.
Make sure that you are not overwatering your Ponytail and that the soil is well draining.
