Q.We have a honeysuckle planted at the front of the house (east facing) it grows well in early spring but as the flowers start to em
erge it develops a mouldy appearance and the leaves drop off. I’ve made sure the roots are well watered and given it a nitrate feed, still the same. Any advice? Planted between paving; grows up the front wall.

It may not be getting enough sun. Downy mildew is not a fungal infection and usually clears up when the warm weather of summer arrives. It occurs in cool, moist environments. Chemical controls don't usually help in this case.
