Q.We cut our sycamore tree down. My husband wants to keep the tree stump, about a foot tall from the ground. Is that ok?
The sycamore was planted on our front yard and has been cracking our water lines for watering the grass. We just decided to remove the sycamore tree because the previous owners of the house must have planted it without really knowing how aggressive its roots can be when planted close to the house. So now, my husband wants to keep the tree stump and its roots are showing. Is it advisable to keep the tree stump?

It may try to grow back, but it will eventually decay. If it sprouts you can use chemical means to stop it or have the stump ground.
In the meantime you can use it to grow flowers!
