Q.What to Plant

Anonymous added on April 7, 2015 | Answered

We are moving from the Willamette Valley to Klamath County come July. Presently, we are putting up a greenhouse and two raised beds down south so they will be ready to use by mid-July. What can we be sowing in our city/postage stamp-sized yard in the W. Valley, while waiting to move? It will be too late to plant seeds down there, in mid-July, won’t it? It starts getting cold at night in September down that way! Thank you for your help.

You certainly could plant up many vegetables and even some herbs that you would be able to harvest and enjoy until you leave.
Perhaps you can put in starter plants instead of seeds. Many garden centers have vegetable plants ready to drop into the garden.

Onion sets, assorted leafy greens, early peas. Herb plants would be terrific, purchase small plants and they will grow quickly. Basil, Chives, Sage, Rosemary would all be great choices.

You could grow a patio pot tomato and just take it with you!

Will your greenhouse be used year round? Or just for starting plants each spring?

I'm listing several links that I hope will help you get started, in both locations!
Best of luck.
