Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI live in Houston and didn’t have time to trim long stem growth off my wax myrtle this spring or summer, so it’s looking unkept and crazy. I want to trim those long sprouting stems back for a pretty look this fall, and it is now late August early September. Will it hurt my shrub if I do this now?

Wax myrtle can be pruned at any time of year, so now is a fine time. This site has some great advice for pruning shrubs:
