Will one part chlorine to 1000 parts water hurt watermelon plants when watering?

Although a little may not be particularly harmful to plants, I would actually try to stay away from using chlorine in the watering of garden plants. If possible, use collected rainwater or distilled water instead. However, if this is your only option, then it should be okay since it is such a small amount.
