Watering tomato plants

I planted tomato plants in early morning. It was extermely hot. After planting, watered them with a sprinkler. During late afternoon, I noticed some of the leaves browning at the edges? Is this due to my watering or do they need additional water?

They likely need more water. You should also water from below rather than using an overhead sprinkler. Tomatoes need deep watering. This article should help: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/vegetables/tomato/watering-tomato-plants.htm [1]
