I am a first timer container planting can you tell how often should water and getting leaf’s wet?

You will water when the top 1/3 of the soil is completely dry. This time will vary depending on the conditions surrounding the plant. Do not allow it to dry any more than that, and try and keep it from staying more wet than that. They can get quite particular with the watering habits.
As long as this is not tap water, then getting the leaves wet will not matter. If this is tap water, then it is best to avoid watering the leaves, if you can.
