Q.Watering a fig tree

Zone PA | LUCH1973 added on July 10, 2012 | Answered

My boss has a fig tree in a container. How often should it be watered? The woman I work with has watered it so much the leaves are turning yellow. She said too much water is not the reason for the leaves turning yellow. I think the tree is dying. If it is, how can I revive it?

Yellow leaves can be caused by both under and over watering. If it's an issue over too much water, then back off some to allow the plant to dry out a bit. Water when the first inch or so of soil is dry to the touch. This article might be of some help as well: https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/edible/fruits/figs/fig-with-yellow-leaves.htm
