Water lilies

Question

My water lilies flowered well the first year year of planting, but last year and this year, the flowers are lying at an angle on the surface and not developing properly. Could anyone please help me with this?

Thanks but my waterfall is no more than a trickle. I am wondering whether the pond is not deep enough at 1/2 metre for them

May be too close to running water like a waterfall or fountain. I would move them to a more subdued part of the pond.
