Q.Want To Plant Bare Root Hellebores In Pots And Transfer To Flower Bed Once They Come Up

Purchased hellebores in pots, approximately 5 tall and they are thriving. Have tried 2x to plant bare root in ground and never came up. Thinking better to start in container then transplant to ground. Please advise

Bare root plants should be planted right away after receiving them and not allowed to dry out.

You can start them in pots, but it may take the hellebores longer to reestablish and bloom after transferring to the ground. They are one of those finicky plants that are not keen on being moved. Here is more:
