Very Young Blueberry Plants I Planted a Month Ago

I planted a collection of 3 young blueberry plants (early, midseason and late). I live in NC and did check acidity of soil. The plants are having their leaves chewed off (tip and sides) and I’m down to a twig here or there. I saw some small grasshoppers in the mulch. Could they be doing the damage? What should/can I do immediately to save these plants? Also, what fertilizer should I use and when should I apply? Thanks.

It is likely slug damage. They only come out at night so people often do not see them. This article will help you with the slugs:
