Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comI had a tree service come today to confirm my thoughts that my Autumn Maple had verticillium wilt. We dug the dirt from around the trunk and we’re going to give it a week but they told me that it will probably have to be pull. They also said another “maple” could not be planted in the same hole. Could another type of tree be planted in the same hole or not?

After removal of the tree and it’s remaining roots, you could replace with a disease resistant tree, but not a Maple Tree.
Check with your County Extension Office for a list of trees.
