vegetable garden/cedar trees

I have just removed a cedar hedge and would like to plant a vegetable garden there next spring. Is there something I have to do to prepare the soil?

I would first ensure that all the roots from the hedge have been removed and then have your soil tested so you will know what you’re working with, and whether anything needs to be fixed.
