Question

What is the best way to ensure that the soil retains the water while we’re traveling.? I have planted three different types of tomatoes, some straightneck squash and some cucumbers and herbs.
I don’t have anybody that I can have come by to water the plants while we’re gone. I don’t want to over water before we leave because the plants are still fairly small and tender.
