Q.Variety Suggestions, Zone 4, Evergreen, 10-12 Ft Height.
I am planning to replace 30 ft tall cedars with shorter maturing evergreens for a living fence in my yard. The current 40 year old cedars are blocking both the rising and setting sun. My goal is to increase the direct sunshine on my vegetable garden as the day length shortens. The new variety should be, 12 feet tall by 4 to 6 ft wide at maturity. Low maintenance, have interesting colored and texured foliage and provide privacy. Please provide sources for purchasing convenient to zip code 12901, Plattsburgh, NY. I have 2 areas. The east/Morning side is 40 feet. The west/ sunset side is 50 ft. Thank you in advance for your time.
