Q.Value Of No Mow May

Zone Aylsham | Penny101 added on May 21, 2024 | Answered

I have a small lawn (4m diameter circle) laid last year with purchased turf. I have not mowed since 30.4 and it’s looking shaggy. On a new lawn such as this am I really helping insects?

It can help both beneficial and bugs that you may not want around your yard. It does, absolutely, provide a more comfortable environment for many different creatures, though. Just be sure not the let it get too mature, as when you cut, it could make the lawn yellow for a while.

There are other ways to attract beneficial insects to your yard, though.
