Using weed killer in the garden

Can I spray my garden boxes in the fall and plant in the spring? If so what and how do you recommend.

If your garden is full of weeds you can spray it with an herbicide in the fall and cover with mulch so more weeds don't grow. Or, you can cover the area with newspapers or cardboard to smother the weeds over the winter. Here is how:
