Q.Using Cedar Log For A Planter

Zone 35741 | Anonymous added on March 30, 2021 | Answered

Neighbor cut large cedar tree and I was thinking of digging out a log and using for a succulent planter. Do you have advice about that? There is a significant amount of sap. Is that a problem? Thank you.

This article tells you how to make your planter from a log. Cedar is recommended as the wood of choice so you're way ahead. I've read that pressure washing removes the sticky sap.
