Use of dead Palm tree

Question

Do you have any advice on how I can creativity use the trunk of a large dead Palm? I thought cut it up and try to build a raised bed – or is there a better use???

You can cut them in half and remove the inside to use for a planter.
The inside portion will rot and have a very unpleasant order.

I have head of people using them for carving totem poles.
