Upside Down Growing

I just found out about upside-down growing plants, and I just was wondering besides the benefit of not having to pull weeds and not having to worry about pesty bugs, are there any other benefits (such as does it help make a larger fruit)?

Not really. Most people grow plants upside down for space saving reasons.
