Q.Understory
I live in Indianapolis.
I have a small 1/2 acre forest with large 60-80 foot trees – Oak, Maple, Beech, Walnut.
I am considering planting:
Red bud
Flowering dogwood
Hawthorne
Paw paw
Viburnum
Tulip
Would this be a good mixture?

You should determine the amount of sunlight that the areas you are planting will have.
You should also check the soil and a soil test is a good place to start.

I would also check with your County Extension Office for a list of plants and trees that are suited to your growing zone.
