Q.Types Of Ligustrum Similar To Sunshine
My HOA landscape company here in Texas planted Sunshine Ligustrum in the hottest part of the summer last year. We are located in between Dallas and Fort Worth. We questioned the mid summer planting. Now they look awful. They should have trimmed them back in the spring and fertilized them but they didn’t. Now they are saying its an “act of God:” because of a freeze we had. Other sunshine Ligustrum looks fine in the neighborhood.

The fact they planted it in the hottest part of the summer doesn't bode well. The shrubs probably did not get established, especially if they weren't watered well. Then when winter came they weren't prepared.
