Is the money plant considered a palm, what type of potting soil should I use when re-potting?

Any commercial houseplant soil will work fine for your Money Tree. These plants aren’t all that fussy about soil but do be mindful of the size pot you transplant into. Keep it just a bit larger than the current one – not huge. See notes here: https://www.leafari.com/braided-money-tree-planting-guide.html [1]
