Turned Leaves on Gardenia

Today, some of the leaves on my gardenia are turned wrong side up. I fertilized it last week and it has been doing beauifully outside. I’m in the Midwest where it is hot – mid 90s and very humid. Is it a problem that the outside leaves are turned wrong side up?

Gardenias do not like to get too hot, thus outdoor plants require shade. Due to the hot weather, your gardenia may simply be showing signs of stress. Rather than fertilizer, give it some extra water. If the plant is in a container, move it to a shadier location. Another possibility is pests. Look for signs of aphids and then treat as needed.
