Q.Tumbling Tomatoes

Zone ST5 3DQ | PatW added on May 12, 2020 | Answered

Hi – I’ve purchased 3 x 8.5cm tumbling tomato plants and want to put them into my hanging basket. Is it OK to plant all 3 in one basket or do they need more space? Basket size is 12″ x 8″ deep. Thanks Pat Woodings

You will only want to plant one per hanging basket. Though they are more compact than other cultivars, a single plant will take up the entire basket. Planting more than one in the container will cause competition and you may lose one, or all of the plants. It will be best to plant them separately.
