Tulip Bulbs

I want to divide my tulips. Because they are planted amongst Wild African violets, dividing in the fall is difficuilt. Now that they have bloomed and are dying off, can I dig up the bulbs, divide them and wait until fall to replant the bulbs?

You can divide them now. Anytime after the foliage has died back is fine. Fall is just considered best because they will get adequate water from rainfall, so just make sure to water them a bit.

I will warn you that if you move them now, they may not bloom well next year, but if they have not had trouble blooming every year for you in your yard in the past, they will resume normal blooming the year after.
