Q.Tulip Planting Question Clarification

Zone Peacham, Vermont, Zone 4 | Anonymous added on December 1, 2022 | Answered

In reading the article Getting Tulips to Bloom Every Year, https://www.gardeningknowhow.com/ornamental/bulbs/tulips/tulips-bloom-every-year.htm, I have a question about something and want to confirm. “Planting the tulips bulbs to the right depth will also help keep your tulips blooming annually. You should plant the tulip three times deeper than it is tall.” I’m assuming you mean how tall the bulb is not the actual stem and flower. Am I right? A 2″ bulb would be planted 6 inches?

Yes, plant the bulb three times the height of the bulb.
