Q.trumpet plant

Anonymous added on July 30, 2015 | Answered

I just bought a trumpet vine that is not looking the greatest right now. If I plant it and do regular watering, will it come back? Also, how far down to I cut it in the fall? The one I bought is about 7 inches tall. Will it double in size next year? Thank you!

These plants are very hardy once established and can normally take the cold. The leaves will fall off on their own and should regrow once warmer weather has returned. Give it some more time and new shoots/growth should begin. If you do not see any new growth after a few weeks, then it is possible that the extremely cold temps from this winter may have killed the plant off.
