The plant you received was probably produced in a hot house and forced to bloom. Sometimes plants forced in this way have a hard time transitioning to garden life. Check that when you transplanted the plant you didn’t bury the root ball too deep. You should still be able to see the top of the rootball. Be sure you used potting soil and not planter mix as they are very different. Go ahead and remove the yellowing leaves and be careful not to over water. If you have time add an image as it it helpful to diagnosing plant problems.
