Q.Trimming raspberries

Zone North Indiana | danstob added on August 22, 2015 | Answered

I read that raspberries should be trimmed late winter, early spring. But my raspberries are already 8 to 10 feet long and growing! What would be wrong in cutting them back now–late August? Thank you.

Pruning is type specific for Raspberries.
Pruning in the summer months can harm the fruiting and open up the plants to insects and fungus problems.
