Trimming Plants

Summer Deas added on May 16, 2018 | Answered

Hello, We had some Miss Lemon™ Abelia planted this spring, they are growing quickly and expanding. They are surrounded by Mondo grass and based on the landscape design I do not want them to get unruly. Can I prune them in a rounded shape? Should I put any edging around them?

Shaping is recommended in early spring, before new growth.

Pruning later in the season will leave you with no flowers; if your not worried about blooms, shape them up to the desired size.
