Trimming Leaves From Tomato Plants

I’ve heard that by trimming the leaves off a tomato plant at a certain time it makes them produce better. I bought 2 tree tomato plants that are growing and have just a few green tomatoes on them. I planted them in May. Should I trim the leaves off or is there anything I can do to make them produce and ripen faster? I’m in Zone 5.

There is not much you can do to make them ripen faster. But if you find frost coming before they are ripe, you can finish ripening them in the house.
