Q.Trimming Indoor Ficus

I need help with my ficus. Don’t know where to begin. Clearly it needs to be trimmed which I’ve watched plenty of videos, but my ficus appears to have 3 trunks. Appreciate advice on how to get it to more manageable plant. Would like to keep in same spot. Is it a braided ficus or more of a ficus Bush. Overgrowth is taking a toll on its health. HELP!

This is a Schefflera! They are much more forgiving than a ficus. They can handle any pruning, including fully cutting the shrub down. They are not particular.
