trimming Green Mountain boxwood

Question

I have newly planted boxwood; I want to allow it to grow naturally, but I have a few errant branches that have shot up, much taller than the rest of the branches. When and how do I prune these errant branches?

I live in Northeast Nebraska. Thank you.
