Gardening Know How Questions & Answers - https://questions.gardeningknowhow.comWe had very harsh, cold weather earlier this winter. I lost about three bunches of bananas, (not fully developed, turned black). Yesterday, I cut back and trimmed the remainder of trees. The plants are bursting forth with new leaves now. Question: How can I recycle the leaves, stalks, etc.? Would I have to cut them in small pieces to use as compost on top of the banana plant’s mound?

It is better to add them to the compost pile, but if you don’t have one, they should be shredded prior to adding them to the soil around your plants.
