Can I trim the leaves down on a lily after it’s done blooming?

You can cut the flower stalks back after the flowers have faded. It is best to keep the leaves in place until they die back naturally in the fall or winter. Cutting them before this will weaken the plant because it needs its leaves to store energy for next year.
