trees with non invasive root systems

Question

Just added a patio area outside our office which has a circular opening in the center for a tree with lighting. What would be the best choice without damaging the patio?

This is a difficult question as I would not recommend such a planting area for trees.

Anytime you have masonry or paving their can be issues.
Masonry traps moisture in the soils beneath the concrete slab.
The roots will continue to grow and tap into the cool and moisture when it is hot out.
Roots continue to grow and will eventually place pressure on the concrete, not matter what type of tree you have planted.
